The internationally acclaimed play, Eclipsed, is headed to Milwaukee.  Made famous on Broadway and originally starring Lupita Nyong'o (Star Wars, 12 Years a Slave), the production is now being interpreted by the creative geniuses at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater.  An ensemble cast of women will bring this production to life, bringing Liberian culture and theatrical expression to Milwaukee's stage - and FUEL wants you to be a part of the experience.

Written by actress-playwright Danai Gurira (Black PantherThe Walking Dead), the play is a stunning tale of hope and resilience set in 2003 near the end of the Second Liberian Civil War. Five extraordinary women, who have formed an unlikely sisterhood, struggle to negotiate power, protection and peace as they try to survive. Drawing on reserves of wit and compassion, these defiant women ask: when the fog of battle lifts, could a different destiny emerge?

Nominated for six Tony Awards, including Best Play, Eclipsed has been called “rare and powerful” by The New York Times and “a must-see production” by New York Magazine.

Milwaukee Rep is the largest performing arts organization in Wisconsin and one of the largest professional theaters in the country.
