Don't Quit Your Day Job
Regional Professionals Moonlighting as Entrepreneurs

Do you have thoughts of starting your own business, even though you enjoy your career? Well, rest assured that you don’t have to forgo one for the other. Entrepreneurship and professional attainment are not always mutually exclusive pursuits. You actually can have both!

The Milwaukee Region, named a "hot” city by Entrepreneurship magazine, is a burgeoning hub for career professionals with entrepreneurial spirit.  More than 85% of MKE business entities employ fewer than 25 people and, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly half of the nation’s 22.5 million business owners probably have a day job.

Clearly, if you’ve been thinking about "moonlighting" for yourself, you’re in pretty good company. And, if being a knowledge worker is as high on your list as owning a business, the Milwaukee Region is an ideal place to merge those passions.
Join us for "Don’t Quit Your Day Job” and meet three Milwaukeeans who have started and grown their own businesses while maintaining high-level careers.
These three will share their personal stories of entrepreneurship and explain how talent and personal passions work for them from 9 to 5 and then again from 5 to 9!
Chrisanne Robertson is a visual artist famous for her whimsical cityscapes. Known regionally for her "Milwaukee Plate,” Chrisanne’s work is on display in homes throughout the nation. By day, she serves as vice president of George Watts & Son, Inc., handling fine crystal buying & marketing as well as special events.
Joe Dahl is the founder and chief operating officer of Milwaukee Metro Management, a property management company overseeing twenty rental locations throughout Milwaukee. By day, he’s a full-time software developer specializing in web technology for a national healthcare company.
Scott Baitinger is the co-owner of Streetza Limited. Named a top ten food truck by, Scott’s business is "creating pizza just like your Italian grandmother would make, if you locked her in the back of a truck.” By day, he is the creative director and vice president of Mader Communications Group.
Berni Xiong will be our moderator for the evening. Berni is founder and owner, Bx Life Coaching, which she began while working as an account management professional. If you have any questions for the panelists, please email them to Berni at
