Back by popular demand, Ex Fabula and Milwaukee Black Professionals are happy to present, “Still Becoming,” part two of a unique storytelling workshop series designed for Black professionals.

This workshop will take your storytelling to the next level and provide a brave space to share your truths about the world of work, uncovering your purpose, and building a life that reflects your innermost dreams.

Lead storytelling coach, Rochelle, will lead you through next-level techniques that will help you refine, practice and share your story out loud.

Attend this workshop and you will:

  • Learn how to identify your life’s most fascinating moments and apply proven methods for developing them into stories
  • Gain skills on how to capture your audience’s attention and keep it throughout the story telling process
  • Explore the use of emotion and suspense in your narrative, creating a story arch that people won’t forget
  • Gain confidence in telling your stories in front of an audience of any size

Space is extremely limited for this workshop.  Sign up to come alone or bring a friend.  This will be a great time to connect with other Black professionals living and working in the Milwaukee Region.

ABOUT EX FABULA

Ex Fabula is committed to strengthening community bonds through the art of storytelling. The organization celebrates the power of true and personal stories to connect individuals through universal experiences. Ex Fabula's vision is a radically inclusive community that honors the dignity of all people - to that end the group leverages personal stories to help community members connect, advocate and heal.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Rochelle has a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Communications, but most of her storytelling training was more informal.  Her storytelling experience started with blogging on several sites including her personal blog, www.thelatearrival.blogspot.com. In 2015, when she was named one of BlogHer’s Voices of the Year, she was asked to read that story at an event. Later, she read other written stories through Milwaukee's annual Listen To Your Mother Show, and then she made the transition to telling stories without notes as an Ex Fabula Fellow.  Building on that experience, she is now a coach for the 2016-17 cohort of Fellows.
