Gina Santagati

Vice President Resource Development, United Way

Be them well-heeled philanthropists or young professionals just developing a giving profile, Gina Santagati understands that (with the right ask) most people have charity in their hearts and will do what they can to help.  Her ability to connect donors to the causes that move them has been a huge asset to the United Way, which raised $56M last year, serving over 220 regional programs and 110 partner agencies.

Join FUEL as we sit down with Gina to discuss the ever-changing landscape of philanthropy and how she's demonstrated the United Way's investment value to thousands of new givers.  Connect with Gina over a cup of coffee and hear her career story, find out how she raises millions, and learn where she thinks we all should be investing our resources and talent for a better Milwaukee.

As of January, 2018, Gina Santagati is Vice President, Resource Development for United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, she has held multiple roles withing United Way over the last 11 years.

In her time at United Way, Gina has effectively developed both individual and corporate relationships to extend United Way’s base of support. In 2011, she implemented steps to increase workplace and corporate giving within Professional Divisions, making up $3.95 million of the overall campaign. Under her direction, all Donor Network groups have seen exponential growth, including Emerging Leaders and the Women United program, which has raised over $100 million making it the largest in the nation and recognized on a global level. Gina also helped found the Philanthropic 5 awards in 2008, which has recognized over 50 exceptional community members for their philanthropy, volunteerism and leadership. In collaboration with United Way Worldwide, Gina with a team of colleagues from United Ways across the US, established and launched LINC, a millennial engagement strategy which connects young people with volunteer opportunities and strategic networking. Most recently, Gina worked with Tocqueville Society and Jane Bradley Pettit Society donors, increasing membership in both groups to their highest since inception.

Gina is also an active community volunteer. She was named a 2015 Milwaukee Business Journal 40 under 40 award winner. She holds a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Marquette University, and founded Marquette’s National Young Alumni Association, for which she served as president for two years.

Gina lives in Shorewood with her husband Giovanni and son Luca.
