Robert Monnat
Partner & COO at Mandel Group, Inc.

A powerhouse of operational management, Bob Monnat is a key player in Mandel Group's success as is a national award-winning builder and Milwaukee-based developer. He helped found the property empire in 1991, and with his help Mandel Group has developed or transacted over $1 billion of residential and commercial real estate development.

You can't get very far in Milwaukee without seeing the fruit of his labor.  Among Mandel's local developments are East Pointe, a 9-block redevelopment of a vacant freeway corridor north of Milwaukee’s CBD; University Club Tower, a 36 story, $100+ million high rise luxury condominium tower on Milwaukee’s lakefront; and The North End, a 650-‐unit, $175+ million reinvestment in downtown Milwaukee.

If you've never had breakfast with a real-estate mogul, here's your chance.  He's taking us to one of his new downtown properties and telling the story of his professional journey and lessons along the way.

Robert Monnat serves Mandel Group as a partner and Chief Operating Officer.  Working with Barry Mandel, he helped form Mandel Group in 1991.  As COO of Mandel Group, he is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of Mandel Group’s development and construction operations, and specializes in urban redevelopment, urban infill and waterfront developments.  Since inception Mandel Group has transacted over $1.5 billion in real estate development activities.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Monnat’s development resume includes over $200 million of directed real estate developments – primarily urban redevelopment projects – throughout the US for a national developer.

Bob and his wife Barb are Milwaukee residents and have twin sons, Sam and Charlie, who attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  A native Milwaukeean, Bob is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s School of Architecture & Urban Planning.   Bob is active in the community, has served as president of the Bavarian Soccer Club, a 6-time national champion club, and is now Chairman of Friends of BSC, LLC, which owns the Bavarian Soccer Club’s facilities.  He is an active member on the boards of the Historic Third Ward Business Improvement District, the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation, WAM DC – Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee Development Corp, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Venue Task Force, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Wisconsin.  He is an adjunct instructor in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning and program leader for SARUP’s graduate-level Real Estate Certificate Program.
