Sketchnoting - A Guide to Visual Note Taking
Instructor: Mike Rohde, Rohdesign

Meeting notes, lecture bullet points, to-do lists and schedules.  Everyday we use text to record and convey ideas that are long forgotten after we write them down.

Sketchnotes, or visual note taking, uses text and simple images to record ideas and concepts.  This essentially collides the right and left brain, sparks your creativity and analytical skills and helps you make memorable documentation of the things you most need to recollect.

Join us for this quick workshop where you will learn the basics of Sketchnote taking from Mike Rohde.  He created a highly effective method of visual note taking and he's going to plug-in and show us how it is done. You do not need to be a great artist.  Just bring an open mind, your favorite pen and a notebook.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Mike Rohde is the author of The Sketchnote Handbook (2012), and The Sketchnote Workbook (2014). He enjoys teaching sketchnoting principles to students—especially those new to drawing and non-artists.

His lifelong habit of recording concepts and observations through sketching, inspired him to develop sketchnotes—a practical art that translates simple and complex ideas into easily recalled bits of information.

Community and sharing are important cornerstones of Mike's philosophy, as evidenced by the creation of The Sketchnote Army, a website dedicated to finding and showcasing sketchnotes and sketchnoters from around the world.
