In August 2001, Young
Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM) was founded by the Metropolitan Milwaukee
Association of Commerce as an economic development initiative to attract and
retain young, diverse talent to the Milwaukee Region.
In February 2007, YPM reorganized, rebranded, and was relaunched as FUEL Milwaukee
to better position the organization for regional influence and to place
emphasis on what FUEL was designed to do, rather than making age a focus of
YPM had grown to 5,000 members
and gained a national reputation of success, having created and hosted the
first National YP Summit in 2004. Since its launch, FUEL Milwaukee has registered
thousands of members and continues to be recognized locally and nationally as a
leader in regional talent attraction and retention.
